On Tuesday, June 16th the Watertown Business Coalition and the City Events Team welcomed local businesses, community members, and nonprofit leaders to the beautiful roof deck of Watertown Savings Bank for an annual networking event.
With tickets sold out, attendees enjoyed a gorgeous early summer evening overlooking Pleasant St in the heart of Watertown Square. The energy was high as new faces attended their first WBC event and familiar faces reconnected. One of the highlights of the evening was seeing longtime members and new members alike making meaningful connections and strengthening the relationships that make our business community special!

Guests were treated to an incredible spread from Halva Mediterranean Grill, which is preparing to open its brand new location in Watertown Square. The food was a true standout of the evening, with guests raving about the delicious menu long after the event ended.

WBC Co-Founders and Presidents Doug Orifice and Bob Airasian shared updates on the organization and briefly touched on the proposed Watertown Square Area Plan. They emphasized the Watertown Business Coalition is here to support the business community and welcome conversations about any questions or ideas regarding the future of the Square.
The event continued a 2026 WBC initiative: partnering with a local nonprofit at each event to shine a light on the incredible work being done throughout our community. For Rooftop Connect, we were proud to partner with Project Literacy!
Project Literacy Program Director, Janet Saied, shared information about their impactful program, which provides free adult education opportunities through the Watertown Free Public Library. Their services have helped adults from over 60 countries learn speaking, reading, and writing skills in the English language, take computer literacy classes, as well as prepare for U.S. citizenship. Additionally, she highlighted two meaningful ways to support Project Literacy: by volunteering to become a tutor or by making a financial donation to help sustain their work.
A special thank you goes to Watertown Savings Bank for being the hosts with the most and opening their incredible rooftop space to our community! Thank you as well to Halva Mediterranean Grill for going above and beyond to create a memorable experience, and to Project Literacy for the important work you do to make our community stronger and more connected.

Rooftop Connect was a wonderful reminder of what makes Watertown special: people coming together, building relationships, supporting one another, and investing in the future of our community.
We can't wait to do it all again next year!
