Gigi's Pizza Co. Takes Home the Golden Slice
Watertown, you've proven you have some serious pizza opinions!
The Watertown Business Coalition's 2nd Annual Citywide PizzaFest brought local pizza lovers together for two weeks of delicious debate, friendly competition, and plenty of community spirit. From September 4th - 18th, residents had the chance to vote for their favorite pizza in town, and you showed up in a BIG way - casting nearly 1,500 community votes, almost 1,000 more than last year!
With 12 incredible local businesses participating, the competition was anything but cheesy. This year's lineup included West on Main, Little Family Pizza, Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, Wicked Bagel, Conley's Pub & Grille, Gigi's Pizza Co., Sevan Bakery, Bougie Pizza Co., D&D Pizza and Subs, Stella's Pizza, Red Lentil, and Johnnie's Pizza & Wings.
And after two weeks of voting, we had our winner!
With notable community votes bringing them into the runner-up spots:
The winner was announced at Faire on the Square on Saturday, September 19th where Gigi's Pizza Co. officially took home the Golden Slice trophy, a free 1 year WBC Membership, and, of course, undeniable bragging rights as the Best Slice in Watertown for the year!
Gigi's came out strong from the start, promoting PizzaFest both online and in store - and that enthusiasm clearly paid off. Congratulations to the team on taking home the W!
A huge thank you to every participating business and every community member who voted, shared, and helped make this year's PizzaFest such a success. Events like this are all about celebrating the incredible businesses that make Watertown special.
And remember: just because PizzaFest is over doesn't mean we stop celebrating the pizza in town! There are plenty of slices still waiting to be discovered, so keep supporting local, trying new spots, and enjoying everything Watertown has to offer.
